Former Southern Jaguar, Brian Johnson will be heading to the Olympics in Beijing. Brian is a former SU Jaguar two-sport athlete (basketball and track). Johnson is also an assistant coach for the Southern Jaguars Track team. Johnson qualified by finishing second in the long jump at last month's trials.

Johnson will be wearing USA across his chest in Beijing and he's hoping to have his wife, Pam at National Stadium. Pam is a nurse in Woman's Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The family is reaching out to raise money so that Pam and her sister can make the long trip for the biggest meet of Brian's life. The trip will cost nearly $5000 per person.

If you’d like to help, donations can be made at any Chase Bank. Specify that it’s for the Brian Johnson Olympic Fund. The Beijing (China) 2008 Olympic Games are August 8-24, 2008

  • 1-hour Individual Initial Fitness Assessment and Exercise Prescription

  • 1-hour Individual Post-Fitness Assessment

  • 1-hour Individual Nutrition Assessment

  • 3 Follow-Up Nutrition Sessions

  • 18 1-hour Group Exercise Sessions with a Certified Personal Trainer

  • Program Education Binder

  • Heart Rate monitor

  • Body Minder Journal

  • Healthy Steps Educational Seminar

To ensure optimal results for all participants we require that each participant has a Body Mass Index under 40.  Please contact Pam Stone ext. 8713 or Melissa Martin  ext. 8254 to determine eligibility or to find out more information about the program.  An alternative program for those with a BMI over 40 is offered.

Briarwood Golf Course is still swinging! And they're offering a 9 hole Women's Scramble on Mondays for only $15. Briarwood is open to the public, easy to get to, and affordable. They have a driving range, and putting and chipping areas. Golf lessons are available and golf club rentals are available if you don't have a set.   • Woman’s Hospital Child Development Center was awarded “Favorite Childcare Facility”
  • The Fitness Club at Woman’s Center for Wellness was awarded “Favorite Health Club”
